This site is to be a collection of essays, commentary, and thoughts on Freemasonry, what it is, what it could be, and how to actualize the dream into reality.

More than that, it is a forum, a means to engage in dialogue with others on the topic of Masonic Transformation, and how to Transform Masonry.

Ars Latomorum

‘Latomorum‘, is the genitive plural case of the Latin word ‘Latomus‘ (or in its more usual form ‘Lautomus‘) itself derived from Greek, and means ‘of stone-cutters‘. First seen in 14th-century Fabric Rolls it came to represent ‘of freemasons‘.

‘Ars‘ is latin for work, or art.

Thus Ars Latomorum is work of freemasons, or art of freemasons.

The Author

I, Jason A. Mitchell, am described as dynamic, thick-necked blowhard, who communicates in the traditional alpha-male modes of brute cajolery, passive-aggressive manipulation, and grandiose bombast. It is said my standard uniform is of surly, anti-establishment disaffection.

I regret to say that more of this above is true that I would like to admit.

I am a member of several Masonic organizations, and I put up this site as a place to journal my Masonic thoughts and experience. I admit my diligence in this is often questionable. This experiment however is successful as it becomes a sounding board of my own thoughts, and allows me to chronicle and revisit my Masonic development.
