Four Letter Words... - 4

J. • 21 October 2005 • Freemasonry

In Freemasonry the word recruitment is given a wide-berth, similar to most four letter words. This need not be so.
While it is not our custom, nor am I saying it should be, to actively solicit new members, it is essential to track the rate of loss through death and NPD, and understand how many new [...]

Dreams and Visions... - 0

Dear Unknown Friend,
I must apologize. To myself, I suppose. It has been quite some time since I have made an entry here. I wish I could say that I have been busy, but I do have lots on my mind.
Work has been typical, though unfulfilling. Corporate reorganizations always try me, unless I am somehow involved [...]

Looking Forward to Some ... - 0

Dear Unknown Friend,
Tonight’s Degrees marked the end of the Lodge work for the next two months. We have some Degrees, and a family event, other than that, the Lodge is dark. The coming hiatus is welcomed, and I am looking forward to get back to My Masonry. I hope to tie up a bunch of [...]

Knocking on Heaven’s ... - 2

J. • 17 June 2005 • Freemasonry

Dear Unknown Friend,
There was once a time, when I would come into Lodge full of confidence and energy. I would own it. Striding in and immediately asserting myself and my views. Such was my vision, so convinced I was that it was Right, my confidence was unshakeable, and I would clash with those of authority [...]

What it is to be Spiritual... - 1

J. • 02 December 2004 • Freemasonry

The Mind is capable of processing certain non-physical stimuli that may or may not exist within or without the Mind. Note, the brain processes the chemical information for physical stimuli, but the recognition of this stimuli (pain, pleasure) is a matter of the Mind. These stimuli and our reactions to them are what necessarily make us Human. This is the most basic sense our spiritual nature, because it discusses the spirit; our compassions, our zeal, our fears, and our prejudices, and our delusions – and our Reason (Reason used in the sense of the Enlightenment of the Western world) of each of us. As for the Divine Spiritual (note the capital s), certain ontological assumptions have to be made. While these statements are meant to say that we are all Spiritual, it also means that we do not all see or recognize that Spirit. As proof of that, is the existence of Initiation, the act of opening ones Mind to the existence of the Spiritual.

Trestleboards... - 1

J. • 20 October 2004 • Freemasonry

In my personal opinion, which of course is the Word, these are currently the best trestle (or tracing) boards available. While many might revolt at their style, or the emotional response to them might cause many to revolt, I find in them some tremendous power - for this reason: They show innovation, and evolution from [...]

Masonic Formation... - 0

Jack Courtis has an excellent article on the 12 Disciplined Actions of the Kabbala within a Rosicrucian construct. I have taken them and applied to to Freemasonry, within the construct of a Transformative Art.
What is Freemasonry
Freemasonry is a transformative art. It is an ever continuing process of spiritual, intellectual and physical change that all Masons [...]
